To be eligible you must be a graduate of a medical school and enrolled in or have been accepted for enrollment in a residency program. This program is available to physicians in a medical specialty that is critically needed in wartime.

Recipients must obligate themselves to two months in the Air Force Reserve for each month in which they receive benefits. Monthly stipends are paid during program attendance.
